Sandra, I figured the Nellie Hall who was listed with Bolen and Hester in 1880 had to be her daughter from her marriage to John Wynn. I suppose the other children had left home by the time of her marrriage to Bolen Hall. I knew that Hester had received a pension, so I just assumed she was Bolen's widow. Perhaps they were still legally married, just separated. I'm not sure if they would have given her the pension if they were divorced. Do you have any idea of why they split? I do know that they married only about four months after his first wife died, and he had a very large family of children and grandchildren in the area.

I don't know how much you know about the Halls. Some of Bolen's brothers also moved to the Alachua/Bradford/Clay Co area about the same time as he did - Cyrus and Lyman, Patrick's daughter, and other assorted relatives moved to that area. Another group of his children moved to the Thomas Co Ga/Gadsden Fl area, earlier, around 1830, same time as your John Winn showed up there. I still have no idea who Juniper's family was, or even where he was born, for sure. But I have been researching the family in sw Ga and in Fl and have come up with lots of new information in the past three years. Added to the DNA results, it is clear that there is an early Maryland connection. Many of the names surrounding him come from this area. He also seems to be tied to the Choice family of Surry Va, and two of his DNA matches were in Pittysylvania Va. Other areas that his family connections come from are Craven/Duplin NC and Edgecombe NC.
I think that Hannah Johns descends from Richard Johns and Elizabeth Kensey of the Clifts, Calvert Co Md. I have a 4gtgrandmother, Mary John, who married Nicholas Chambers in Cecil Co Md, sometime before 1741. I think she descends from this couple also, though I haven't found her parents yet. I would not be surprised if your Wynns were in that area earlier as well. I did find it interesting to note some of the names near John Wynn (if it is him) in 1820 Emanuel Co - such as Sutton, Hayes, Deakle, etc. Some of those names are from my mother's family, though the other side from the Halls. I did find a Dekle connection down in Thomas Co, though, when Ansel Dekle was guardian of Kindred Hall's grandchildren and a coexecutor of their father's will. I suspect that many of these families did travel together for several generations. I also found a William Hall who married Jane Adams in 1805 in Tattnall Co Ga. They moved to Pulaski Co, then SW Ga, then settled in Leon Co Fl. Several of his children, most daughters and their families, moved to Alachua Co Fl by the 1860's as well. I think this William was a brother or other close relative of Juniper Hall Sr.
I can send you a file on Juniper Sr and on William Hall if you would like to see them, and see if you find any other connections to your family.
I might add that Bolen Hall's first wife, Mary Ann Hutcheson, was the daughter of Elender Barwick, and I am related to her Barwick and Whiddon ancestors as well as to the Halls, and his brothers Cyrus and Lyman also married women from these two families.
I would love to have further information on Hester's family as well.
