Laura-Elizabeth, your story is so interesting but different from what I understand. You talk of Johnny as the 8th baronet. According to my records, which up till your stories I had believed were absolutely correct, the 8th baronet was Owen Watkin Williams Wynn. It happened this way: Louise Alexandra Williams Wynn (1864-1911) married her cousin Herbert Lloyd Watkin Williams Wynn (1860-1944) and he became the 7th baronet. They had three children, Owen Watkin Williams Wynn, Gwladys Elin Williams Wynn, and Constance Mary Williams Wynn. In 1944, when his father Herbert died, Owen Watkin Williams Wynn (1891 - 1949) became the 8th baronet. In practice, Owen did not use his first name and was known as Sir Watkin Williams Wynn. This Owen (i.e. Watkin) did sell Wynnstay and 150 acres, that's correct, to Lindisfarne College, probably in the late 1940s. I hope I do finally hear your fascinating family story when you have put it together. Regards, Gordon Notify Administrator about this message?
