Hello Laura. I am very interested in your case so please stay with me. But to progress I must understand what it is that you believe, and have a sound base for research. Firstly, you say that you are pretty certain that you are directly descended from John Wynn and that your great grandmother Elizabeth-Ellen is the spitting image of him. Then you say you are descended from all 6 Watkin William Wynns, perhaps 1st bart's brother Charles. Regarding your naming of "John Wynn". Do you believe this to be Sir John Wynn (b.1628 d.1719) 5th baronet of Gwydir and possessor of Wynnstay? If so, then you are not descended from him as I use the word . No one is, not me, not Elizabeth-Ellen. He died childless aged 90/91. If you refer to another John Wynn, give me more information. Please clarify for me. Next, I do not understand your reference to a possible ancestor Charles, a brother of the 1st Williams Wynn baronet. The first Watkin Williams Wynn, (b.1692 d.1749) was born Watkin Williams and became the 3rd baronet of Glascoed, and when he inherited Wynnstay and the estate of Sir John Wynn in 1719, he added the name of Wynn to his Williams. Whether or not he had a brother Charles is of no relevance in your case as any brother would have had the surname Williams not Williams Wynn. In this context, do you agree that you are not related to a brother (Charles) of the first Watkin Williams Wynn? If you do not agree, please clarify for me. Regards.
