More information you may not have from a book published in Michigan just after 1900 by the order of Governor Blair.

From Volume 22, 22nd Michigan Infantry, Civil War, 1861-1865

PAGE 159
WYMAN, STEPHEN, Lyon, enlisted in company I, Twenty-Second Infantry, August 12, 1862 at Lyon for 3 years, age 37. Mustered Aug. 22, 1862. Taken prisoner at Chicamonga, Ga., Sept. 20, 1863. Exchanged. Returned to Regiment Feb., 5, 1865. Transferred to company I, 29th Infantry, June 26, 1865. Mustered out at Murfressboro, Tenn., Sept. 6, 1865.

How terrible it must have been for his family to have him serving or held prisoner while at home his children were dying.

Judy
