St. Arnulf of Metz

For those descended from Sir Thomas Wyatt (1503-1542) and his wife, Elizabeth Brooke, there are (at least) two direct blood lines that trace back to Charlemagne, one through Elizabeth's father, Thomas Brooke, and the other, and more interesting one, through Elizabeth's mother, Dorothy Heyden, that contains most of the English kings including William the Conquerer. Elizabeth Brooke was also a second cousin of Anne Boleyn (whom her husband was involved with in the early 1520s).

Charlemagne's great grandfather was Arnulfe (582-640), an important figure in the Merovignian Frankish court of Austrasia, eventually appointed Bishop, and canonized after his death. So descendants of Sir Thomas are also direct descendants of St. Arnulf of Metz.
