Thank you so much for this information. From your response I gather that Y-DNA analysis has confirmed that there was a William Wyatt who was related to Rev Hawte [Haute] Wyatt and Sir Francis Wyatt, great grandchildren of Sir Thomas Wyatt the poet (1503-1542). As you outline, the possible relationships are several.

In any case, the Y-DNA analysis confirms that the descendants of this William Wyatt are descendants of Charlemagne along at least two bloodlines (through Sir Thomas's wife, Elizabeth Brooke), including the one through Brooke's mother that includes most of the English Kings.

My next question is whether any of the present day DNA-confirmed descendants of William Wyatt trace their lineage through one or several of the John Wyatts commonly listed among the Wyatt descendants. Do you know, or know where I could find out?
