I have been doing some searching for some time for my fathers service history.
He passed away and now it's to late to ask what I should have asked sooner.
I found this forum and it looks like some of the people here really know how to find the history.

He had told me some stories but they don't match his DD214.
His name is Paul Edward Yeager.
His DD214 Shows
Ser No. 13 001 394
Date of Birth 29 July 1919
Date of Enlistment 3 Oct. 1940
Date of Seperation 6 Sept.1945
MOS Engineman - Operating 081
Battles and Campains - India-Burma

Decorations and Citations - Good Conduct Medal - American Defense Service Medal - Asiatic-Pacific Service Ribbon

Date of Departure 12 Jan. 1942
Destination Australia
Date of Arrival 2 Feb. 1942

Date of Departure 31 Sept. 1944
Destination United States
Date of Arrival 5 Nov. 1944

Now my father told me:
1, He was on board a ship headed for Hawaii on Dec. 7 1941 and the ship he was on was diverted.
2, He was in India.
3, He was burnt when a engine caught fire. ? Purple Heart

Is there any way to get more detailed information of where he was and when.
