I think page 47 of Eugene R. Wooster's "The Edward Wooster Family Booklet" may be helpful to you. Eugene Wooster lists among the children of Abel Wooster a fifth child, a son, David Potter Wooster, who married a Catherine Brooks. Abel Wooster was fifth generation in the Edward Wooster family, (Sylvester 4, Nathaniel 3, Sylvester 2, Edward 1). Abel was born 17 October 1788 in Connecticut; died 5 November 1844 in Lenawee County, Michigan; married about 1805/1806 Phebe Coy born 13 October 1788 in Connecticut; died 11 October 1859; both buried in Hand Cemetery, Woodstock Township, Lenawee County, Michigan. Children of Abel and Phebe were: 1. Wealthy, born 1806; married Benjamin Craig of Palmyra Township, Lenawee County, Michigan. 2. Belinda, born 1807; married Samuel P. Shelden of Ogden Township, Lenawee County, Michigan. 3. Marilla, born about 1809? 4. Lyman, born 1811 in New York; married Hannah, 5. David Potter, born 1813, married Catherine Brooks of Palmyra Township, Lenawee County, Michigan. 6. Drucilla , born 1816; married Henry Brockway of Woodstock Twp, Michigan. 7. Abel, Jr., born about 1819; in Alabama, Genesee County, N.Y.; died 16 March 1895, Minneapolis, Min. at age 76; married 1st Harriet Fleming, died about 1855 in Michigan; married 2nd Jane (Anderson) Morrison after 1861. 8. Welcome, born 3 August 1820 Genesee County, N.Y., married about 1843 Mary L. or Elizabeth Barker. The rest of the brothers and sisters deeded their share of the homestead to Welcome and their mother, Phebe, lived out her life with his family. Dr. Frederick Wooster Owen gives his death as 1897 at Addison, Michigan. 9. Miles R., born about 1823; census of 1850 indicated he lived at the Welcome homestead. 10. Henry, born about 1825; enlisted in Mexican War ? and died. 11. Phebe, born about 1827; married Isaac Norton, born about 1827, believed to be the Isaac Norton enlisted in Civil War of that area in Minnesota. Phebe and Isaac Norton owned land with Abel Wooster in Minnesota in 1857. Eugene R. Wooster's book contains additional information about David Potter Wooster's siblings Lyman and Abel, Jr., but the book gives nothing more about David Potter Wooster. Your conjecture about David Potter Wooster and Catherine (Brooks) Wooster's having gone to Michigan seems to be correct. In fact, it appears that they were married there, apparently having migrated there separately-her family from Greene County in N.Y. and his from Genesee County. You may be interested in noting that in June of 2000 I answered an inquiry from a "Steve" about Miles R. Wooster, a younger brother of David Potter Wooster. You and Steve may have information to share.
