This is the history of censuses I have and what they say. Some for Calvin and some for George
Calvin: 1880 Says he was born in Virginia father born in
Germany. Mother left blank
1870, 1860, 1850 all say he was born in Virginia
Calvin was born in 1805
George: 1850 Census Says he was born in what looks like
"Penn" However, it might be "Tenn". However,
their daughter listed with them born about 1823
was born in "Tenn" it is a definite "T" in my
opinion and is written quite different than the
"P" or what ever it is in George's entry. I do
not have the 1880 Census for the other
children. It
would be interesting to see what they say about
where their father George was born. If others
do not have this information I do have access
Ancestry.com and can check it out. Of course
George died in 1858 so no other census lists
his birth place.
