Searching for any information on my Wolff family of Rockford, IL. (There must still be someone there.)
The family settled there around 1870 (they're in the Mt. Pleasant census, previously coming from OH.
Names include:
William Fred (or Frederick William) (?-1875) married Rosina Geiser? (abt 1828-1910) he may have been a cabinet maker.
Children:
William Fred (1859-1928) married Myra Midgley (moved to Camden, NJ)
Charles? (1861-1880)
Albert John (1862-1919) married Sophia Bowman; Elizabeth Rosina (1865-1945) married Sherwood Keeling (moved to Elgin,IL)
Frank John (1867-1938) married Emma Betts
Henry J.? (1870-1945) married Elizabeth Lampert, (moved to Lena, IL).
(Story has it that there may have been a total of 8 brothers and 1 sister). Family name may have been DeWolff, changing it to Wolff after arriving in this country.
