Verifying Beyond Thomas Wight
Posted by: Gary Wight (ID *****1151) Date: June 30, 2009 at 23:37:56

Before his death, my grandfather Ralph Wight, had put together a genealogy that dated back to Thomas Wight of Dedham, Mass.

Based on other searches and genealogical trees I am certain that Thomas Wight is the decendant of Robert Wight and Elizabeth Fullshaw. Born in Hareby, Linclonshire, England in 1607 and met his future wife Alice Roundy of the isle of Wight. Thomas Wight was a poor minister and fell in love with the wealthy Alice Roundy who's family refused to let them marry, so they left and came to America.

Thomas Wights father was Robert Wight of Hareby, Linclonshire, England born in 1578.

Robert Wight is the son of John Wight born 1552.

John Wight is the son of Robert Wight born 1527 or 1531. There is an article of John Wight being witness to a will but nothing of his wife or any form of ancestory beyond him.

Does this correspond with anyone else's information? is there any information to discredit these findings? and has anyone been able to go beyond this?
