Earlier today I purchased two studio portraits of the subject individual at the Oakland Museum Women's Board White Elephant Sale held in Oakland, CA. Both undated photos were taken during the same sitting by C. A. Johnstone, Hartford, CT. One photo has penciled on the back, "W. H. C. Whiting," and the other photo has penciled on the back, "Henry Whiting." I could not find him in the U.S. Census data, but did find a W. H. C. Whiting listed as Treasurer of the "Owl" Bowling Club, 66 Temple St., Hartford, CT, for the year ending September 1914.
