Margaret's father was the noted Hollywood composer Richard A Whiting (1891-1938), who was born in Peoria, Illinois.
His parents were Frank K Whiting and Blossom Leach.
Frank's were apparently Richard Henry Whiting (b. Conn. 1826) and Elizabeth Kirkbride. Richard H Whiting represented an Illinois district in Congress 1875-7.
His parents were Allen Whiting and Amanda Alford. I have some of Amanda's ancestry but not Allen's.
I do not know how these Whitings relate to your Wyoming Margaret, though.
