I am researching my grandmother's family. Her grandfather, F.W. Welke (aka William) was born in the vacinity of Lobsens, Wirsitz County, Prussia in 1847. He was baptized at the Evangelical church in Lobsens in 1847. His wife Henriette Wilhelimine Rux (aka Minnie) was also born in 1847 in the same area in a town I believe to be Gu"ntergost, Wirsitz County, Prussia, also not far from Lobsens. She was also baptized in the same church the same year. The were also confirmed the same year of 1861. William came to USA in approx. 1869 and Minnie in approx. 1872. They were married in Detroit in 1873. The hand written Register of Marriages in the family bible states that a Char Welke and a Amela ?halm also witnessed the marriage (I have no idea who they are). From there my gggrandparents moved to Mayville, Lapeer County, Michigan where they raised a family and remained there for the rest of their lives. They are burried (along with other Welke family members) at the Rich Township Cemetery just south of Mayville. If anyone has any information that might expand on my search I would greatly appreciate it. I've come to kind of a brick wall. Thank You.
