I believe I can help you out. Your grandfather also had a brother, Albert, but I don't know what happened to him. The Los Angeles Public Library has a book, titled "History of Los Angeles County," which contains an article on your grandfather Louis' grandfather, Louis. In between is Louis Armond Weitz. My wife is related to the sister of the oldest Louis mentioned above. The family was originally from the town of Brumath, in Alsace (France or Germany, take your pick of timeframes).
