If you still monitor this forum, please contact me. My 3rd great grandparents were C ?? Weiss and wife, Friederike Laurette (Krug) Weiss/White They hailed from Goldlauter, Saxony, Prussia. C. Weiss died, Friederike Laurette and four children, including Frederick E. White, a future senator from Iowa, Louis White, Ida Laura White and possibly Amiel White emigrated to the U.S. in July of 1857. She remarried, Gotfried (Godfrey) Weiss/White who had emigrated earlier with other family members. Hopefully, we will find that the two husbands were brothers. Another who has ties (to this family, we hope) is needing a few answers, also. We will be eternally grateful to you (or anyone else working on this line) for help.
