Has anyone heard of Franz Ferdinand Weiss? I was told he came over from Germany when Bismarck was in power and he brought with him a four sons and two daughters and for his sons to avoid military compulsory training. His sons had been in their army.I was told he had 25 children in Germany and that these were probably the youngest. They lived on an island in the Rhine River. One of his sons was married to Augustine Weiss. They had two children a boy and a girl named Alma. Alma had no children but her brother had 7 children and my Grandfather Alfred Hans Weiss was one of them. Grand father Alfred had a few wives. I don't know all of their names. I think my maternal Grandmother was Wilomena. I'm not sure how to spell her name. My Grandfather died in Brevard,NC.
