I have Weiss' that came from Zweiflingen, Wuerttemberg in 1854 and he had a lot of relatives that came over as well. They were Lutheran.
One son of my Weiss' married a Caroline ? from Buffalo, NY around 1870. All of their children list their mother as either a Long, Knaus, Neuss, Neus, Heus which we know is all one person since the dates are all the same. I'm guessing the name is just a bunch of different spellings and the Long is probably a maiden name of HER mother perhaps.
She married Fred Weiss - also known as Albraugh Fredrick Jacob and seen in census as White, Wise, Weisz, etc.
Any connection?
