My name is Phillip Christoher Weese, son of Christopher Dow and Patricia L. Weese. I currently live in Salem, VA and my parents are still in New Lexington, OH. My father has been doing a lot of research on our family history as of lately and if you would like you may contact me and I can put you in touch with him.
From what I can remember from talking to him I do know that our family has ties to a Weese family from Elkins, WV. My father has been able to trace our line back to a Jacob Wees (wich is how it was spelled on the passenger list of the ship) born in 1733 and came to Virginia in 1750 from Germany, I believe. My parents have taken a few trips to Elkins this past summer and have told me of an old cemetary outside Elkins that has some stones with the Wees name on them dating back to the 17 & 1800's. There are other random tid bits and names that I remember but my father has a more complete history and would be of more help.
