Hi there,

I am looking for information on John LIPSEY who m. Elizabeth WEEKS. She was the daughter of Archelaus WEEKS (d. bef. 19 January 1797,
Craven Co., NC?) and Abigail EDWARDS. Archelaus was a son of Benjamin WEEKES (1685-1745) of Falmouth, Mass. He died in Carteret Co., NC. His
mother was Mary CHASE (b. 1687).

I am curious as to whether or not Elizabeth was previously married to Gordius RICKETSON, Jr.

Archelaus WEEKS (Elizabeth's father) wrote a will in 1778 and mentioned her and "son-in-law" Gordius RICKETSON. I am most certain it was Gordius, Jr., because Sr. had died in 1774. Then [in 1795] we see that John LIPSEY has married Elizabeth, the daughter of Archelaus WEEKS.
