Amelia Weber b. 1912 - Michigan

Hi. I am looking for any information about Amelia Weber or her ancestors. I have some information that was gathered from my grandmother, Amelia's daughter. However, I haven't been able to go anywhere with it.

Amelia Weber is my great grandmother. She was married to Walter Lee Woods for about a year, during which time they had a daughter Leona Thelma Woods in Dec 1929. From the information I gathered from my grandmother, they would have been married between Jun and Dec 1929.

Lee was 9 (1938) when she met her mother for the first (of a total of 2) times. It was at a family gathering at cousin Jimmy Miller’s. Amelia was pregnant at the time - either with the first or last of her 4 children w/ new husband. Amelia must have stayed friendly with her ex-husbands extended family b/c the Miller's were her cousins by marriage. During WWII, Amelia managed the Miller farm in Okemos, Michigan while Jimmy was hauling house trailers.

Amelia had no brothers or sisters. Amelia’s mother was put into a sanitarium when she got TB. Her mother’s sister took her in (last name Rabideau?). She later left her 2nd husband and 4 children for another man.

Years later, Lee put an add in the Okemos paper asking any of Amelia’s family for information on Amelia or her whereabouts. She got no response.

Not only am I researching my family history, but my grandma turns 80 this year and I know that the holes in her past bother her - I would like to help fill some of the gaps. Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you.

- Jessica
