On May 9, 1818, Joseph stated his family “at home consists of 10 persons, namely myself, my wife,age 30, my son Joseph 15, my daughter Wealthy 13, dau Mary 11, son Elbridge 10, son Abrams 8, Son Charles 6, son George 4, dau Sarah 1.

Maine Vital Statistics shows that Joseph Webber married Lucena Carswell on January 3, 1805, the marriage intent was dated November 26, 1804. Joseph’s son Joseph was 15 in 1818 which means he was born in 1803,this would indicates there was a previous marriage. In addition, Joseph was born in about 1755 and at the time of his marriage to Lucena Carswell, he would have been 50 years old.
