Seeking Info On Early Webbers At Damariscotta Pond/Lake

My ancestor John Moody (c. 1725- 1778) settled his family at a place called Webber's Cove on the east side of Damariscotta Pond/Lake circa 1762-64.

Local history states that a man named Webber ran (or had run) a brickyard at the head of the cove and thus the name of the cove at that time. (It's been called Morang's Cove since sometime in the 19th century.) Webber's Cove was located in what is now the northern end of Nobleboro. However, since Nobleboro had not been incorporated at the time of the brickyard's existence, the area was generally called Walpole.

I'm trying to find out who this Webber was and what connections he may have had to the few local families in the area.

I'm also wondering if there is a connection of this Webber family and the one that Webber Pond in Vassalboro is named after. There was a strong connection between my Moody ancestors and several families in Vassalboro - namely the Wyman and Cross families.

Any info or clues would be appreciated.
