Selinda was also known as Malinda. That is how she is listed in later Liberty Township Jackson County Ohio census records. She was the daughter of Leonard Weese (spelled Weis, Wese, Weace and several other ways) and Susanna Rose. She was born in Gallia County Ohio. Luke died in 1855 of an accidental gunshot wound. Selinda/Malinda died in 1899. Luke was buried at Glassburn/Whaley cemetery but there is no marker. The cemetery is in very poor shape. His father Abner is also buried there. Luke and Selinda/Malinda had at least eight children. Her father Leonard died sometime between 1835 and 1839 when Suzy (their mother) married Henry Vance. Henry died and Suzy married Isaac Morgan in 1847. Suzy was living with her daughter Margaret Vance in Jackson Township, Jackson County Ohio when she died. Leonard and Suzy had 8 children.
