I can tell you that Malinda is buried at Beaverdam Baptist Cem. a few miles from my home she was buried as Malinda C. Weast, her husband is there shown as C.D. Weast, Summie & Summie Jr. also shown as Weast. The death certificate of Summie Andrew lists Charlie Weast & Malinda Newton as his parents. The marriage license of Charlie & Malinda shows as C.D. Weast 20 m. Malinda Newton 22 married 21 July 1897 @ the home of W.B. Bridges. Wease came into common use in our line around the time of WWII, due to trying to sound less Germanic (that is a long story). Weist & Weast had been interchanged a good deal in the line up until that time. As far as the Adams thing goes. It sound likely that is her father but perhaps her birth predates the marriage (that happens quite a bit). I did make an error in my earlier post & I do apoligize I relied on my memory. Jacob L. Weast (son of Catherine/Caty) was the father of 14 children. 10 of those are by his first wife Sussanah Dykes. 4 are by his 2nd wife Elizabeth Jane Williams. Charlie was indeed from the 2nd marriage. Oddly enough the 1st child borne of Jake & Elizabeth was born before his 1st wife's death. He married her a few years later when Susannah passed on. If you will email me what you know of the John Adams situation I can probably find it as I still live in NC and research here is easier for me.
