I'm a Weese, but when researching my family on ancestry.com, I found a connection with the Wease family there. Samuel Wease and Sabbie Smith had 15 children, of which about half changed their name to Weese. Samuel was born in VA, had his children in Tenn., and died in IL. My great-grandfather settled in KY, had his children, and then the family that didn't go to IL, went to OK. Samuel's grandson, James Wease, settled in OK.
