Ernest---Are you sure the Thomas Washburn who married Elizabeth Carder was the son of Charles Washburn? If so, then he and his bride were half brother and sister (They had the same mother, Charles' widow and William Carder's wife, maiden name Rebecca Lowther). If you're sure Thomas was son of Charles, then than lends credence to my "back-up theory" that William Carder's wife, whom Carder historians say was named Nancy (rather than Rebecca) might have been the widow of Isaac Washburn rather than widow of Charles as recorded. What do you think? Bud Carder
