Robert Walpole(1781-1856) had estates at carrow Abbey, near Norwich and at Sole Lodge, (Smundeston, Norfolk). He married Caroline Frances daugher of John Hyde. They had 2 sons & 2 daughters.
Horatio Walpole, 1st Baron Walpole, was his grandfather and his Dad was Robert Walpole, Clerk of the Privy Council & envoy to Portugal
His mother was Diana, daughter of Walter Grossett.

(I think that they had a son named Thomas, but I'm not sure. That is the only way I could connect this next bit of information to Robert and Diana Walpole)

Spencer Horatio Walpole 911 Set 1806-1898)2nd son of Thomas and Mararet (d. 1854, daughter of John Perceval). Spencer became a lawyer & retired from the bar in 1852. He was a member of the House of Commons. He married his 1st cousin Isabella 6 Oct 1835. She was the 4th daughter of Spencer Perceval. She died 16 July 1886, aged 84. They had 2 sons & 2 daughters. The Elder son was Spencer Walpole (1839-1907). The Younger son was Sir Horatio George Walpole.

Sir Robert Walpole (Dec. 1, 1808-July 12, 1876) was the 3rd son of Thomas and Margaret. He was promoted Colonel in the Army 25 Nov 1854--Knight Commander of the order of the Bath. He was promoted to Major-General on 30 May 1862. He married (29 Jan 1846) Gertrude, youngest daughter of Gen. Wiliam Henry Ford. They had 9 children; 2 sons and three daughters, with their mother, outlived Sir Robert.
