WADDLE, GILLHAM, JARVIS, Madison IL 1803-1860

I am researching William Waddle who was married to Sarah Gillham in SC, we believe, then went to MS. We further believe that they had sons: Alexander,(b. 1799? SC) Andrew,(b. 1801, SC) William G. (Gillham?)Waddle, (b. 1803 MS), and Thomas Waddle (1800,SC?); not sure when or where Alexander was born.

Someone, somehwere, posted that 'William Waddle was killed by a horse in MS in 1803 and her father (William Campbell Gillham), went to MS and brought her and the Waddle kids home to Madison IL and that MS was Indian Territory at the time and it was a frightening trip". (If anyone has a source for this we would love to know what it was).

We can follow the paper trails of these Waddle boys there in IL after 1803 as closely as possible.

We know that Sarah Gillham-Waddle then married John Jarvis in IL in 1809. He was married previously to Mary Fields and had at least one son Fields Jarvis by her. Sarah Gillham-Waddle-Jarvis would then have: John Gillham Jarvis (1810), Lucinda (1812), Wesley (1813), Fletcher (1816), and Jane Jarvis (< 1817).

John Jarvis died in 1823 and then Sarah married a third time to Lloyd Belt in 1824.

Please make note, the William Waddle who married Sally Gillham in 1827 is NOT this family. Sarah Gillham-Waddle was the mother (we are positive, although so far no proving documentation)of William G. Waddle, not his wife.

With Lloyd Belt's death (still searching for a death date), Sarah Gillham-Waddle-Jarvis-Belt then married Parkham Randle in 1837. We find thm living in the h/h with her son John Jarvis in 1850.

We are searching for anyone who has any further info on this Waddle-Gillham-Jarvis family of descendants. Does anyone know who William Waddle's parents were?

I will post this same message on the Jarvis, Gillham, Randle, and Belt forums hoping that someone somewhere has more pieces to this puzzle.

Thank you for any help...
Regards, Donna Crosby
