Mary,
Unfortunately the trail ends at 1703. Johann and Christina came to America with a large family; their youngest son George Philip was born 1749 in Philadelphia. The Waber's sailed from the Palatinate on the ship HAMPSHIRE and arrived in Philadelphia September 1748. On the way, Johann pledged allegiance to the King of England. I have been told that Waber w/umlat is either German or Swiss origin.
They moved from Philadelphia within a few years to Augusta County, Virginia; Waber was anglecanized to Weaver. He signed his name Waber w/umlat. George P. Weaver travelled to KY and settled, from whom my ancestry derives.
I am unaware of the historical events "turmoil" that transpired. Please keep me posted if you come across some important link!
In Christ, Gordy
