My gr grandfather was George McDuffie Tippen, born March 28, 1838 in Alabama. He moved to Jackson Parish, Louisiana in 1857 after the death of his father John in Sumter County, Alabama. George came to La with his mother Elizabeth Castleberry Tippen and at least 5 sisters. I have a great deal of information to share on George and his descendants if anyone is interested. He married 3 times, first to Louisa Jane Park, 2nd to Martha Womack and then 3rd to Nancy Caroline Womack, a younger sister of Martha. He had children by all three marriages.
