I am a direct decendant of Martin Thelen b. Sept. 7, 1843 in Niederbahr, Germany; d. Feb. 1, 1899 in Minnesota; who married Mary "Anna" Laubenthal (b. oct 1, 1848 in Germany; d. Jul 20, 1914 in Minnesota) before 1875 in Germany. We belive Martin's parents were Servaz Thelen b. 1812 in Germany and Maria Gertrude Weber.
Martin and Anna's child, John Thelen, was born in Forest Prairie Township (Eden Valley Township), Meeker Co., Minnesota on Sept. 11, 1882 and moved to Stearns County, MN before marrying Mary Goihl on Nov 17, 1913 in Elrosa. She was born on Dec 10, 1886 in Lake George Township, Stearns Co., MN. These were my great grandparents. Much of my family still lives in Minnesota and around the Melrose area. I would love to get in touch with other Thelen relatives or those who are related to our Stearns County Thelen branch.
