Julia, Haven't come across any Colemans yet but I haven't come across any Terry families that could be connected, either. There is some thought that Mary M MNU who married Urian/Hugh Cosby could have been a Furgerson from TN. From the 1900 census, it appears that this James E. Terry was her son and Hugh/Uriah's step-son. However it also seems that at some point she had been married to a Flippo. Even more strange is the fact that on all census records (1900 & 1910) she is shown as M.M. or Mary M, but the marriage license (1899) shows U. W. Cozby married a M. E. Terry on March 28, 1899 Jackson Co AL. This is definitely Uriah but why does the license show M. E? Transcription error? The fact that Uriah W. Cosby has been shown/identified on records as everything from Hugh W. Cosby to Hugh W. CROSBY, to N w Cosby (all verified) just makes things even more difficult. Plus, Mary M. has been shown as born in both TN & AL. So..the mystery goes on and I'm no closer to finding if she was born in TN or not, or whether her parents were from TN or not. Keep me in mind if you ever come across anything that connects to COSBY/CROSBY; FLIPPO; WOODALL; OR FURGERSON. Thanks, Paula Notify Administrator about this message?
