Daniel Coleman of King and Queen County,Va(c.1666-) and Samuel Williams Jointly aquired 600 acres on Herring Creek in newly formed King County on 23 of April 1703 for transporting 12 people. His son, Daniel Coleman, Jr.,had land in Southam Parish, adjoining the lands of a John Williams. I believe this is the John Williams who married Lucy Terry, the daughter of Joseph Terry and Judith Crawford. I am trying to find the father of this Joseph Terry.
More Clues:
A Grissel Coleman, son of Daniel, received a grant for 345 acres of land in Goochland County, along both sides of Little Buffoloe Creek, a branch of Willes River adjoinging Daniel Terry, and Henry Cary. Other neighbor's of Grissel Coleman were James Terry, and Thomas Christian.and his wife; Lucy Bradley (who are descendants of mine thru another line).
Then in 1739, the Goochland County Court ordered that Thomas Harvey, James Terry, and Henry Terry visit the lands of Grissell Coleman to put a valuation on the improvements. The men meet to make their report back to the court on February 19, 1739. The details were laid before us by Daniel Coleman, the father of ye above Grissell. Most of this information I got from the book "Coleman KIN", by Emiley A. Croom. Does anyone have information on these early Terry's ?
