I have found google book search very interesting. If you go there you can get a peek at the diary -journal of George Izard's visit to Eden NC.(SC Hist Soc 1951) (type in Lucy Perkins ,late Terry, accompanying home her bewitched, or poisoned or hypochondriac spouse) It seems like Peter Terry was a manager of George Izard's property about 1816. So Peter was alive until then. The journal also mentions Mr Izard gave a present of earrings to Manerva Coleman of Smith River. After reading this, I found that George Izard had married the daughter of James Parke Fairley, a person who lived at Eden in 1775-1776 and died in Rev war? Seems Peter Terry named his son after this rich man. Next interesting peek: Louisiana Hist. Quarterly 1969 Read the Peti'on on Garland & Jas Terry sett'g forth that they have had granted them in this province the Island near Lake Pontchairtrain called Cokeal, but finding the said Island unfit for Cultivation-therefore pray for a Grant to each of them of one thousand acres in lieu thereof, on the River Mississippi, adjoining Jeremiah Terry & that they be permitted to relinguish said Island. Resolved that said Petition be rejected until they arrieve in the Province. Gov Johnstone is mentioned. I am not sure when this was. About 1763 .More is mentioned concerning grants of James Terry. Jeremiah Terry was a merchant, Indian trader, Gov favorite, bought a Fort in the MS-La-Ala? area, and did business in Pensacola Fla. Notify Administrator about this message?
