I'm back home now and would love to see the Terry family info that you wrote about. I don't really have enough info to determine just which Terry family I am seeking.
All I know is that Hugh/Uriah? Cosby/Crosby (there is much debate about the given and surname as legal records show both)married a 2nd time to a Mary M (Ferguson) Terry and she brought to that marriage a son by the name of James E. Terry, born June 1881 in TN. At least that's what the 1900 Jackson Co AL census records say. On that record, Hugh/Uriah Cosby's name is shown as Hugh Crosby; the 1910 record shows him as Nw Cosby. However, it has been documented as the same family.
James P. Terry has been suggested as the father but I can't say. This Cosby/Crosby family is really messed up when it comes to the spelling of the family name and the family members.
