Have bio/tree starting with 1840 US Census and John (born RI) and Eliza (born NY) Terry. They were in Coeymans, Albany County. In 1850 they had eight children including a William born abt 1825 .... no middle initial given but this family seems to have given all their children middle initals. I followed the line of one of his siblings Milton from NY State to (in 1890) Illinois.

However, I remember running across a Terry family in Troy when I was doing my research. Sounds like that's a posibility too.
