Julia, After I replied to this message, I decided to look at your other postings and was surprised to see the name of Tinsley. I am also looking a a family that was connected to a David and Nancy Ann McDaniel Tinsley of Amherst Co Va. What do you think about the following: SOURCE: "THE WILLS OF AMHERST COUNTY, VIRGINIA 1761-1865" by B. F. Davis Paulina Busby--Book 8, page--Guardian Bond--MATTHEW BUSBY, ISAAC RUCKER, SR. and WILLIAM McDANIEL, December 11, 1829, for Matthew Busby as guardian and attorney-in-fact for Paulina, Nancy, Matilda, and Edward Busby----guardian for them and attorney-in-fact for Milton, Tilford and David T. Busby. Receipt for $617.50 from Edward and Robert Tinsley, administrators of David Tinsley. There is also mention of the fact that Matilda and Wesley Busby are Tinsley legatees. This Paulina Busby is obviously the Perlina/Paulina married to Spotswood Tucker. Do you think the above mentioned Isaac Rucker could be connected? The Busby family is from my maternal side. I've been looking for my ggg gfather, Matthew Busby of VA and KY for a long time. In 1803 Amherst Co VA, he married Saluda Tinsley, d/o of the above David Tinsley and Nancy Ann McDaniel. I know that tracing backwards there is an EDWARD AND MARGARET TAYLOR TINSLEY ca 1704; a Thomas Tinsley and Sarah Jackson ca 1640 and a Thomas Tinsley ca 1618 and Elizabeth Randolph. This was around the Hanover, Essex and Amherst Co VA areas. If you think there might be a connection I will explain a little more in detail, if you wish. Not much of my data on these families is documented, mostly just info supplied by others but it has helped me put these people in a little bit better perspective. Just thought I'd throw this at you in case there was a connection. Paula Notify Administrator about this message?
