My great grandfather was David Crockett Taliaferro. He was born in the Brownsville area and raised his family on a small farm outside of town. One of his son's, Robert Louis Taliaferro was my grandfather. He married Louise Mary Pietsch in 1910, and had four children: Mildren, Clora, Robert and Arthur. Robert L. Taliaferro (II) was born in 1912 and grew up in Wooster, Ohio. He married in 1940 to Alice McGee Miles and had three children: Robert L. (III) -- me, Marc and Blair. Blair and my dad still live in Cleveland, as does Arthur and his three children: Arthur, Craig and Roberta. Mildred and Clora passed away. I married Amy Susan Kostant in 1988 and have two children: Michelle and Robert George (IVth Robert). We live at 283 East 5th Street, Apt. 4-D in Brooklyn, New York 11218.

I would very much like to hear about your background and anything you know about Lyne's ancestors. I assume he has a Virginia connection, but I don't know what it is. The WEB has extensive information on the immigrant Robert Taliaferro and his decendants, but I have found few mentions of Taliaferro's in Tennessee. One was apparently speaker of the State assembly for a year. My daughter is constructing a family tree on our computer and it has been fun to see how fare back we can go.

Anyway, hope you are well. Thanks for writing your question and I look forward to your reply. Bob
