I am descended from my great-grandmother Eliza Bessiah Sweatt who married Levi Barker. She died in childbirth at the age of 30 or 31.
Levi Barker left their children with relatives of his deceased wife. Their son, Wylie Edward Barker was reared by his uncle Greene Sweatt in Iatan, Texas.
Through the Sweatt line, I had a dear older cousin, Paul Sweatt, in Big Spring, Texas, who was born in 1908 and died in 1993.
Paul Sweatt accumulated massive amounts of research on the Sweatt family, and I believe some of his closer relatives may be able to share some of it with me. Thank you very much - Ginie
