Swank Family Genealogy Forum

I am seeking information on a Herman Swank who was married to a woman named Alice. They may have divorced in June or July of 1945. Alice was working in San Francisco, CA as a conductorette when she gave birth to baby girl March 4, 1945. Articles from the paper state that she gave birth to this baby girl and placed it in a can in the restroom. The paper stated she did this because she was afraid she would get fired from her job. One article said she was then going to place the baby for adoption and another said she was going to keep the baby and would be on 6 months probation. It also stated that she had a son who was in foster care in Hayward, CA at that time. A friend of mine also shares the same date of birth as this baby girl mentioned above. She was given up to a couple in Chicago. There is a problem though in that there is no birth record for her in the state of Illinois. There may or may not be a connection here but we would like to learn more about Alice and her husband Herman Swank. Thank you.
