BOSSIER CITY, LA - Celebration of Life services for Odus Ray Stone will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 3, 2009 in Centuries Memorial Chapel with Minister John Hawkins officiating. The family will be receiving guests for visitation Saturday, October 3, 2009 from the hours of 12 - 2 p.m. at Centuries. Interment will immediately follow in the Centuries Memorial Park, Shreveport, Louisiana.

Odus Ray Stone was born October 14, 1913 in Dike, Texas to the late Lemunel Odus and Mary Sophia Roberts Stone and was called home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on September 30, 2209 in Bossier City, Louisiana. Mr. Stone joined our community in 1939 from Pickton, Texas. He was affiliated with the Ford Park Baptist Church in Shreveport, Louisiana, and enjoyed greeting for the Salvation Army, no matter what the weather might have been Mr. Stone was always there to help lend a hand to those in need. Mr. Stone had such a wonderful personality and never met a stranger. He was a member of the American Legion and Moose Lodge for over 50 years. Mr. Stone served this greatful nation by becoming a part of the U.S. Army and dedicating his time fighting for the freedom we couldn't live without. Mr. and Mrs. Stone owned a little business in Shreveport, Louisiana called the Coffee House where they would meet many strangers that would eventually call them friends. Mr. Stone enjoyed a game of forty-two with his sister-in-law on a regular basis. Mr. Stone will always be remembered for his wonderful personality and kindness to others.

Mr. Stone is preceded in death by his parents; his wife; Louise Clark Stone, an infant sister; Betty Faye Stone, and four other siblings; W. A. Stone, Azallee Harrelson, Hazell Wilson, and Harold Stone. Left to cherish his memories and tell his story will be his brother; Eugene B. Stone and wife Sallie, one sister; Mary Bea Jackson, and his special friend that has been there for him through it all, Mrs. Bobbie Marzula, along with a host of nieces, nephews and many great friends.

The family would like to extend a warm thanks to the Northwest Louisiana War Veteran Home for the care and compassion that was provided to Mr. Odus Stone. Centuries Memorial
