PRESCOTT — Mrs. Dolly Lovana Steed, 80, Prescott, Ark., passed away Wednesday, June 11, 2008, at her home. She was born May 8, 1928, in Pine Bluff, Ark., to Thomas Moody and Fannie Florence Turner Dawson. She was retired from the family grocery store, Liberty Valu-Mart, which she and her husband had owned and operated in Prescott for over 25 years. She was a member of Prescott First Church of the Nazarene. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jesse Roy Steed; one brother; and six sisters.
She is survived by one daughter; Nan May and Charles, Murfreesboro, Ark.; one son, Roy Steed and Carol, Dumfries, Va.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services 10 a.m., Saturday, June 14, 2008, Prescott First Church of the Nazarene, Rev. Charles May and Rev. Art Menard officiating. Graveside service 2 p.m., Memorial Park Cemetery, Pine Bluff, Ark. Burial to follow. Arrangements Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home, Prescott, Ark.

RISON — Joyce Earnest, 66, of Rison died Sunday at Jefferson Regional Medical Center at Pine Bluff.
She was born Jan. 31, 1941, at Pine Bluff, a daughter of the late William Steed and Odie Elizabeth Smith Steed.
She was a homemaker and a member of Macdeonia Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, David Earnest Jr., whom she married Sept. 25, 1962 at Little Rock; one son, David D. Earnest Sr., of Rison; one daughter, Joyce Foster of Star City; one brother, William Steed Jr., of Pine Bluff; one sister, Dorothy Mooney of Sheridan; and two grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Taylor Christian Foster; two brothers, Jesse Roy Steed and Howard Steed; and one sister, Emma Ilene Steed.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Buie Funeral Home at Rison with Stephen Keith and Gid Walters officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
