I found the birth registration for their son, George Stevenson Steed, b. 15 November 1877, in Colchester South Township, Essex County, Ontario, the son of Gordon Steed, b. County Antrim, Ireland, and Agnes Hendron, also born County Antrim, Ireland. This birth was not registered until 1947 -- the original either being lost or never registered at the time of birth.
Gordon died 18 August 1912 in Colchester Township, aged 66 years, 7 months, 23 days, b. Ireland, the son of John Steed, b. Ireland and Jennie Gordon, also b. Ireland.
If this is the right family, then you have made progress already, but there's alot more work to be done in determining where in County Antrim they were from.

You are fortunate in that you are researching relatively uncommon names in Northern Ireland. (You should try Wilsons!) There are only a few entries in Griffith's Valuations (first taken in 1848):
