Martha, It looks like my husband is related to your husband. The Isham Harris Steed (I have him as Isham Hearne Steed) you mention is not the same as my Isom H. Steed. However, Lundy Townda Steed is the sister of Agrippa Alexander Steed. Lundy Townda is my husband's 4g grandmother. Her son, Allison Madison Bailey, married Susan Steed, daughter of Isom H. and Laura Lundie. I have a copy of p. 787 of Biographical Souvenir of the State of Texas 1889 that states that Isom H is the son of Thomas H. Steed of NC. Unless my research is incorrect, the father of Lundy and Agrippa is Hilkiah Steed. Therefore, the Isham who is their brother can not be the father of Susan. I do find it awfully suspect that Allison happens to marry a girl whose last name is the same as his mother but is not related. Let me know what gaps you are trying to fill and I'll help if I can.
