How did Stead get into the Cambridge Arnold family?
Stead has occurred as a forename since at least 1747 (Stead Arnold, Weeting, Norfolk). I am assuming this is the result of an earlier marriage between the two families. It could be even worse; a Stead woman marrying a non-Stead then having a daughter marry an Arnold. I'm stymied. Can anyone help!
