Am searching for information on the parents of my gr-gr-grandfather, David Stutson Stacy, who was born in Wilton, N. H. on the 8th of October, 1803. He graduated with honors from Bowdoin College in 1829 and emigrated to LA where he took charge of an academy at Baton Rouge, meanwhile studying law. Admitted to the bar, he practiced law in LA for many years, and was appointed district attorney by the governor. He had an extensive and lucrative practice with the Hon. Edward Sparrow and then later with his uncle by marriage, Alonzo Snyder, both well known LA attorneys. He was in attendance upon the Supreme Court in New Orleans at the time of his death in March of 1857. He married Mary Jane King of MS, a member of a pioneering family of that state in 1849. He lived the latter part of his life in Concordia Parish, LA and owned several plantations as well as a steamboat. Would like to know about his parents as well as where he is buried. Will be glad to share info about his descendants.
