Don,
Just a shot in the dark. My ggm, Janet Speirs (b)1813 (m) John Marshall. Her f & m were James Speirs (b)1787 & Mary Dunlop (b) 1788. James f & m were John Speirs & Isobel Laurie (no b or d dates.) They were supposedly from Paisley & Glasgow. Janet's brother, David, was of some note. He was a shall maker to the Queen and built Speirs Field in Paisley. It is a very large stone house that the last relative there, Liz Patterson, willed to the city for an old folks home Janet's siblings were William (b) 1809, David (b) 17 Jan 1811, and Elizabeth (b) 1815 I have no spouses for these three, only Janet. I have been trying to push this line back for over 50 years. No luck
