Orlando Spears was born December 7, 1881 in Lincoln County, I believe in the 9 Mile Creek area, since that's where most of the family lived. It lies in the area between Upper Mud River and Midkiff. His wife was Alvira Fry, born about 1891. His father was Henry Peyton Spears, Jr., born December 14, 1859 died September 30, 1945. His mother was Chloe Alice Lucas, born January 1857 died 1920. They are both buried in Spears Cemetery on upper Nine Mile as is his brother Harmon who was born on December 27, 1881 and died in 1960. He also had a sister, Spicie. I have a birth date of April, 1886 for her, but I'm sure it was a typo as it was only 8 months prior to Orlando's.

I don't have a death date for Orlando, but I have a faint recollection of maybe seeing his grave in the Spears Cemetery. I did take some pictures of some of the stones, but I don't have any of his.

What I do have on his children is this and some of it may be wrong: Howard, b. abt. 1907 Laurel Hill District, Lincoln Co.; Nina, b. January 11, 1909, died March 23, 1909, Midkiff, Lincoln Co.; Herbie, b. abt 1911, Lincoln Co.; Hubert, b. August 1, 1913, died September 1, 1915 of the Croup at Leet, Lincoln Co.; alice, b. August 1915, Lincoln Co.; Dortha, b. June 1918, Lincoln Co.; Samuel, b. abt. 1920, Hart's Creek District, Lincoln Co.

Some of the above came from other family researchers' sources and some from birth, census and death records.

Orlando was the nephew of my Great great Grandfather Jesse Spears. I hope this has been of some help and if you have any other questions, I may be able to help. Unfortunately, other than a photo of Jesse and his daughter Malinda (my Great Grandmother), I have no pictures of this family though I'd very much like to. If you know anyone who can e-mail photos, that would be great.

Good luck with your search!
