Thank you, for the information you have providing me, as well. I have taken many trips to Lincoln County in search of dates and information. I even got lost trying to find the Spears Cemetery in Lincoln County and ended up in the car for over six hours.
I know the Lincoln County Courthouse had been burned at one time, but I went there, anyway, yesterday, and found Spears listed. Some are of interests, but some, I haven't heard of before.
I did get a copy of Chester and Nona's marriage certificate, there. It's just a copy out of the book, but nonetheless, it's useful information.
I did find the Spears Cemetery, by the way, and photographed the headstones. While a brother or two of Jesse's are buried there, he is not. A local person gave me a short history where people lived around there and according to this man, Peyton Spears lived a little ways from the cemetery. If this is the case, why wasn't he buried there?
I had, also found something on the internet that Peyton died in Boone County. The courthouse has no record of him. I figured that if I could find Peyton, I could find Jesse. Then I would have more dates and more things to go on.
I believe that they are both in Lincoln County somewhere and I also believe that there are records somewhere. Maybe locked away in someone's attic in a family Bible somewhere. I have found really nothing about Jesse. No birthday, no death day, no place of residents or family closest to him that would have passed records or information down.
All I have is a death certificate and, now, a marriage certificate of Nona. My grandmother took care of her when she was in her last years. Even moved her to California for a while until Nona told her to take her back home. Shortly afterwards, Nona died her in Boone County.
I should've talked to my grandmother before she got ill and died, but at that time, all of this didn't matter to me. However, there is one child of Nona's still alive. I might be able to talk to her and see what she can tell me.
